SCHEDULE for the SPRING FLOWER and PRODUCE SHOW
At the Village Hall on 31 March at 2.00pm. Admission, including exhibitors: 50p. Accompanied children: Free. Entry fee per class: 30p. Non-members: 50p. Class 23: £1.00.
Entry forms for Class 22, to be returned by 6.00pm on Saturday 3rd March, with fees. Entry forms, except for Class 22, to be returned by 6.00pm on Wednesday 28th March, with fees. Exhibits, with entry cards, to be in position between 8.30am and 10.30am on 31st March. Exhibitors must have left the hall by 10.30am. All exhibits must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least 3 months before the show, except Classes 19, 20& 21. In Classes 14, 15 & 16 the container should not be more than 25cm in diameter. Floral and produce exhibits must be the exhibitors own unaided work. Prizes in each class, unless otherwise indicated: 1st - £1.00, 2nd - 60p, 3rd - 40p. No exhibits to be removed until after the presentation of the prizes. Presentation of prizes will be at 4.00pm. Please be sure to read the General Regulations as well as the further guidance on the reverse of the entry form. Class No.
1. Camellias - 3 flowers, no buds. 2a. Daffodils - One stem of one flower, trumpet as long as or longer than the petals. Flower to be facing forward. 2b. Daffodils - One stem of one flower, cup (trumpet) less than the length of petals. Flower to be facing forward.
2c. Daffodils - One stem with one or more double flowers. Flowers to be facing forward. 2d. Daffodils - One stem of miniature or multiheaded variety. Flowers to be facing forward. 2e. Daffodils - 3 different stems, staged singly, from any of the above categories. 3. A variety of 4 different spring flowers - (excluding shrubs).
4. Polyanthus - 4 stems.
5. Bowl of 5 winter flowering pansies, without foliage.
6. Sprays of flowering shrub, other than camellias - 3. 7. Wallflowers - 3 stems. 8. Tulips - 3.
9. Flowering Heathers – 3 stems. 10. Heathers for foliage – 3 stems.
11. Hellebores, including multihead – 3 stems 12. 3 flowers of the same kind and not included in classes 1-11 above. 13. One vase containing 3 stems of foliage grown for the decorative value of their foliage. These stems to be from 3 different kinds of plant should be without flowers or fruit. 14. Flowering plant or plants in a container, other than bulbs.
15. Flowering spring bulbs in a container. 16. Foliage plant in a container. 17. An exhibit of two different kinds of vegetable, one of each. Prizes; 1st £2.00. 2nd £1.50, 3rd £1.00 18. Any vegetable of one variety -3
Floral 19. “Diamond Jubilee”- an exhibit. Space allowed 60cm x 60cm x height unlimited. 20. “Reflections” - a petite exhibit. Space allowed 25cm x 25cm x 25cm. 21. “Hot and Spicey” - a miniature exhibit. Space allowed 10cm x 10cm x 10cm. 22. Most attractive spring garden. Prizes; £5.00, £2.00 and £1.00. 23. Jar of jelly.* 24. Jar of jam.* 25. Small bottle of homemade ginger beer.
26. Jar of mustard piccallili.**with waxed paper seal and jam pot cover. A lid to be provided to cover after judging..
27. Three savoury muffins on a plate
28. Six chocolate truffles on a plate. 29. An iced coffee cake on a plate. 30. One pasty on a plate. 31. Men Only Class. A custard tart approx 8 inches diameter on a plate. 32. A cherry cake on a plate.

HORTICULTURAL ASSOCIATION Regulations for Spring Flowers and Produce Show Exhibitors are advised to re-check the General Regulations for shows,
and are reminded that the Schedule is based on the latest
RHS Horticultural Show Handbook, the NFWI Handbook for Exhibitors,
Judges and Show Committees, and the latest edition of the NAFAS Competitions Manual.
Copies of these handbooks are held by the Honorary Show Secretary.
Note that all measurements given are metric.
